I just purchased a 1929 and have found many things that don't add up. This car was purchased new in 1931 at the Oakland plant by my great grandfather. He owned it until atleast 1942. I have some old 16mm. family movies that show it but are only from a distance. my qu...
Stop worrying Durant enthusiasts. The diecast insert came out intact, although the metal looks like chip board. My plan is to remove the rest of the spigot so no more metal can cycle through the gears. Then bush the bolt holes so the bolts are a neat fit, all the load...
Will there be a central location that the cars will be displayed (i.e. Main hotel) to view at a specific time? I'm a new member and haven't been to any of your meetings. Thank you.
I am looking for input on the timing marks on the cam and crank gears on my 14L. I see an 0 mark on each gear but they don't line up with each at any time in the rotation on the gears. Here a couple of pics of the location of the marks. I tried to mark them with wh...
Just wondering where the production totals went on the website. I just get directed to the Hemmings website when I click on the link in the technical section. Does anyone have any of this information? Looking specifically for the model R coupe numbers.

I know a lady that has a 1923 Durant. How would I identify the correct engine for this car? I know it has a fuel problem in that her husband says it has a vacuum tank for the fuel and that it won't start. If gas is provided via a gravity feed I think it runs.

I saw in a post on the AACA forum a few days ago that Stan Reynolds passed away on Feb. 9th. He was 88. Actually Mr. Reynolds was part of my connection to the DeVaux car.
In our potographs section I posted most of the DeVaux pictures. The one of the "Rusting DeVa...
I have a 1917 DORT Eagle. The back half of the auto is missing just about everything. I am guessing this was a speedster of some sort. Can anyone help with a pictures, drawings, etc.
Many thanks.

Just wondering if anyone knows what colors were available for 1926? My coupe appears to have been painted a dark green color at some point in its life but underneath the repaint, and on the fire wall, there is a dark olive color. I assume this is the original color.
I found some woven semi metallic brake material and rivets from a supplier in Edmonton. Now that I have it, I need to cut it to length and drill holes for the rivets.
When drilling the holes, do I need to worry about countersinking the holes to burry the head o...
The forum was attacked by spammers three times today, twice the morning and once this evening. Unfortunately I had to turn Image Verification back on to put a stop to it. Yeah, I hate it too, but it works and keeps others from hijacking the forum.

Dear fellow Durant afficionados,
I'm trying to locate the rectangular metal trim for the back window of my 1928 D-60 Durant Sedan.
Would anyone know the whereabouts of such a piece?
Thank you!

I've got several 28-29 Durant chasses and some 28 Chevrolet trucks. Do you think it's feasible to take a Chevrolet body and put it on the Durant frame, and end up with something worthwhile? Did by chance Durant use the same cabs? Is anyone interested in a project...
So I got to thinking, I know only certain body parts etc. will fit my R but what about other parts that would be common through other models and years? Lets say window cranks for example, would the ones used on my R have been used on other Stars or Durants in the sa...
Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on taking these guys out. I have all the grease housing, spring and retainer removed and am wondering where to go next to get the joint itself out.

I volunteered to get a 1904 curved dash Oldsmobile running for the local historical society. One cylinder, 2 speed planetary transmission under the seat. Engine turns. Needs a brake drum and front spring leaf between the tiller and the axle. Anyone had any experi...
Billed as the oldest Running Chevrolet in the world.
While I don't know if that is true or not, this car certainly is from Chevrolet's Billy Durant era.

Hi all, I purchased my Rugby in Feb this year after purchasing it from a fellow in our local club/museum where it had sat for 20+ years. After getting the old girl back on the road I found the engine to be fumy and decided it was time for a pull apart look at the rin...

I am replacing the wood spokes in my artillary wheels and am having trouble getting the split rim to remain butted together when I install the fellow-wood spoke-hub assembly back into the tire-split rim assembly. Does anyone know how the locking devise shown in the p...
I've got a metallic tapping noise at the front end of my 15L. It is intermitent and seems to occur mostly after the car has warmed up. It sounds like when a fan blade hits the radiator. At first I thought it was a bad cooling fan bearing but today I removed the fan...
Seem to remember in an old Durant Club magazine a list of model numbers for Trico windshield wipers for our cars. Anybody have a copy of it? Need to know the Model number for the Trico that would fit my 1928 Durant Model 65 4 door.
Happy New Year to all Durant members worldwide from The Sunburnt Country! We have had a very mild summer so far instead of sweltering in high humidity it is a pleasant 28C.
Hi all:
Happy New Year from the folks in Canada! We had some snow here in Guelph, but it has almost all disappeared. We wish everyone a prosperous and healthy New Year. Lots of Durant functions.
