Hello all
I have the oil pan off my friend's Star touring to check bearing clearances and look for any future trouble spots. The engine has aluminum pistons, and I suspect they are replacements although our period literature does not specify the original piston ma...

I'm flying to Australia on business Friday (U.S. time) and may have the weekend after that(27 and 28 March) to myself in the Sydney area. If there is a Durant event (or any old car event) then I'd appreciate hearing about it. Thanks.
Lee at the Brassworks emailed me this morning and said the following: "We are trying to clear out all of our stoneguards. We have a 1930 Durant Stoneguard produced sometime ago. It has some surface rust and needs to be re-plated. It needs a home and we are discoun...

I recently heard of a 1932 DeVaux coupe w/rumble seat that is for sale. It's located in the middle of California; it's in pieces, but complete. If you're interested, or know of someone who might be, contact me and we'll start working on it.

I pulled the radiator shell off of the 619 last week and discovered a fair amount of damage to the bottom of the shell.
I know the chances are slim, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Does anyone have a radiator shell that will fit a 1931 model 619 in better shape??...

I spoke with a Delvin Weldim about what he thought were early Durant parts, as it turned out they are a Star which had been possiably used as a buzz saw...Anyway the engine is a W5-40774, so there is the W-5 engine, the cowl, the Radiator which he said looked good ho...
Does anyone know the ohms and or guage range of the heat sensor for the 1930/31 Durant.A part # would help. I would like to put in a more modern heat sensor; preferably from a 6V car but maybe one from an early 454 Chev or the NAPA part #TS6726. BUT!!! It would be n...

I use battery tenders on all my stored cars. Twice now the tender terminal that was attached to the battery completely corroded away breaking the connection. I end up with a lot of green stuff on the terminal and a dead battery. What gives?
My Star has a W-4 engine with one of Frank's Zenith carbs. I have to both fully retard and choke it to get it to start even when it is hot. I then have to quickly advance the spark or it dies. If the engine is hot, I have to stop choking as well. Any suggestions?
I am on the hunt for woven webbing (flexible strap) material used with the Delco-Remy Lovejoy shocks on the 1928 D75. It is also the same size used in the Gabriel Snubbers (Cleveland, Ohio) on some of our cars. The original webbing size used was 1.25" wide by 3/16"(m...

And no I could not take a decent photo of it, th...
