I spent last week at the Hershey, Pennsylvania annual car show representing the DMAC there. For those that are not aware, the Hershey Fall Car Show is the largest car show east of the Rockies. Over 9,500 flea market spaces, 3000 cars in the car corral, several antiqu...

I sent my Durant motor to a machine shop for some minor work and cleaning. They pulled the camshaft out to assist in the block clean. When they put it back in they missed. The cam is no way near in time. I checked the owners manual for instructions and the ones the...
My father is selling his 27 Star model R Super Six convertible due to his health.
He has asked for my help in coming up with an estimated value.
Runs great, 99% original, 3/5 body condition.
What should he ask for it?
Can anyone tell me if the lower fan belt pulley is just pressed on? I can't see that the drive shaft is threaded for a retainer bolt and I find it hard to believe that it is held on by friction. The manual doesn't explain it very well. Help would be appreciated.

I was advised by a wise restorer that the best way to determine if the number 1 piston was on the compression stroke was to remove the plug, put your thumb over the hole and turn the crank until you felt the pressure. This works well if there are two of you. One to...

I will be using my ATT cell number for all occasions (903-277-7190). Please up date your phone lists.

After 5 years of restoration, installing my headlights is the last major project. My project was bought in pieces so I do not have the luxury of having taken it apart. I also received parts from a parts car (1928) so often had trouble in knowing which belonged to t...
I need to replace the steel bushings on the leaf springs of my 1925 Star F. The Filling Station has brass bushings of the correct I.D that can be modified to fit the springs. Any opinion out there as to stick with the plain swRHsteel tube bushing or switch to the b...
My 24 Flint uses a split rim and I have one that when layed flat has about a 3/8' warp on the end. Why can't I use it as it appears to me when you tighten the bolts on the wheel it would eliminate the warp. The later models had 4 lugs whereas mine has 5 which should...
Hi All,

What is the correct radiator hose clamp for a 1929 Durant D63? The best I can tell from some pictures is the double wire type with a slotted screw. The last car show people didn't like my worm drive industrial clamps I stole from work.
Thank You
I keep a few things in the loft of my barn. One was a Star radiator shell.

My question is, do these things pop off b...
