Love it! Some interesting choices here. Looking forward to it.
Hi do they ever replay these clips on another night
Duncan Browne “Wild Places” - pretty sure they have never played that clip before! Countdown did play a very brief except from this clip once or twice, but never the whole 6 progressive rock minutes of it. This song was also a bit of a staple “filler” between programmes on the ABC in 1980-81, but most of the clip was replaced with the ABC’s own random images of galaxies, landscapes and stuff. I remember seeing it many many times. Good memories!
Cowboys are the theme tonight, it seems.

Next week's Vault playlist is up on the rage website. I'm not sure what the theme is, other than perhaps early 90s alternative.

JASE & Michael, I've still got the whole show, in both 4:3* and 16:9, on my recorders. Were there specific clips you were after, or the whole program?
(*that being said, many if not all of the 'new' clips were stretched beyond 4:3, so a thin slice of the picture is cropped off on the 4:3 recording).
The Mondo Rock and Paul Kelly clips were Countdown performances, and the Swingers clip was cut due to the show starting late.
Having just looked through the recording in detail I noticed that they cut out The Swingers and Pop Mechanix clips from the list Nathan posted.
Although they were likely to be the live Countdown performances it would still been nice to have them in.
They do all seem to be 1981 Australian/New Zealand performances
The actual playlist was:
THE REELS Shout and Deliver
SPLIT ENZ One Step Ahead
OUTLINE Maybe It's A Game - very rare clip
INXS The Loved One
FLOWERS We Can Get Together
FLOWERS Walls
ICEHOUSE Love In Motion
THE DUGITES Part Of Me - very rare clip
THE DUGITES In Your Car
THE DUGITES Waiting - very rare clip
MEO 245 Other Places - live on Countdown
LITTLE HEROES The Last Number One - Countdown clip
LITTLE HEROES For A Bleeding Heart - very rare clip
THE SPORTS How Come
THE SPORTS Stop The Baby Talking
MONDO ROCK Chemistry - Countdown clip (I think)
PAUL KELLY and THE DOTS The Lowdown - live on Countdown
The Mondo Rock clip had to be Coundown, as I saw audience heads in it near the start. (unless it was from some other show)
I hate when some of the Monday night episode gets cut because of earlier programming running overtime. In this case it was Parliament Question Time. Geez.
Hi Nathan, yes, lock me in for the full episode! Cheers.
Yes the Mondo Rock clip was a Countdown studio performance from show #293, 19 July 1981.

Not sure what the theme is, but it seems they are late 90s tracks.
Rage posted their playlist on FB this morning, over 8 hours ago, and has only had '12 likes' thus far, and next to NO comments.. Shows what a cruddy Vault it is tonight. Oh well, hopefully some great 70s and 80s coming up soon.
This is an interesting playlist for me anyway. Even though not many people resonate with the playlist, it doesn't mean that it is bad or won't be liked by some people. Some of the most popular artists and musicians are not considered to be the best.
As posted in the other thread, there is no episode this week, but a 121 minute episode is scheduled for next week, and a 166 minute episode scheduled the week after, according to http://www.abc.net.au/tv/programs/rage/

The electronic TV guide and an online TV guide I looked at show this episode starting at 1:05am, rather than 1:49am as rage have posted on Facebook. Hopefully this means that there will be an extra 44 minutes of videos from this vault theme shown! I wonder what they'll be if so. Hopefully some more Sonia videos that aren't 'You'll Never Stop Me Loving You'.
Unfortunately, as I suspected they would do, it looks as though *every* video other than 'Rok Da House' from the playlist above was stretched beyond the 4:3 area of the screen. The picture was even overlapping with the watermark on the Paul Simpson/Adeva and Beatmasters featuring Marlin tracks - these were not originally letterboxed 4:3 videos, so there was absolutely NO need for rage to do this. I wish they would stop f**king with aspect ratios like this.
So.... was the theme 1989 clips? They seem to be from around that period

I'm not sure what the theme is tonight. The photo accompanying the playlist though showed someone sitting among a large collection of vinyl records.
I like it, but if there's a theme to that then I'm not seeing it!
Disappointing version of French Kiss played last week. They used to play the rude version during the top 50
Nathan...i have a long version on a cd where the moaning and slowed down beat is at the start...is this what you have??
Monday night's playlist is up on the rage website now. It's a Pink Floyd vault, with some solo Roger Waters & Dave Gilmour clips in there too.
http://www.abc.net.au/rage/playlist/monday-night-30-july-2019-on-abc---vault/10045536
Next Monday night's playlist is up on the rage website already. It's a 1995 theme.
http://www.abc.net.au/rage/playlist/monday-night-6-august-2018-on-abc/10071500
You f#$kin' beauty 1995 good music and memories!
It looks like a nice playlist even though I would like to see more rarer and obscure content from that era.
Did anyone record this week's vault episode in 16:9, and haven't deleted it yet? My 16:9 recording stopped 2 hours in, so I missed about the last 1.5 hours.
My 4:3 recording worked, though. It's only for clips that are stretched beyond the 4:3 region of the screen that I'd potentially need the 16:9 recordings for.
It was good to see on this vault episode that rage did not blow up several letterboxed 4:3 clips to 16:9, as they normally do:
Spearhead - Hole In the Bucket
Madonna - You'll See
Pet Shop Boys - Paninaro '95
Rednex - Old Pop In an Oak
Others, though, were blown up, like 'Kiss From a Rose', 'U Sure Do', 'Too Hot', 'Sorrento Moon', 'You Belong To Me'.
Hi Nathan, i got the lot in 16:9. Let's trade and fix up their mess! LoL.
Tonight's playlist was posted on the rage website on Friday:
http://www.abc.net.au/rage/playlist/monday-night-13-august-2018-on-abc/10107678
They've also thankfully added the theme there, which is the music of the Sopranos.
Next Monday's vault playlist is up on the rage website. The theme is maybe Australian alternative acts (though Southend is on there, and they're dance):
http://www.abc.net.au/rage/playlist/monday-night-20-august-2018-on-abc/10133414
Monday night's vault playlist is up again on the rage website. 1985-1986 seems to be the theme, with an alternative slant; although there is some poppier stuff towards the end.
http://www.abc.net.au/rage/playlist/monday-night-27-august-2018-on-abc/10162414
**** you rage. Finished early. No Wild Blue. No Jean Beauvoir.
I’ve wanted a nice copy of “Walk Away” for ages. First time rage has ever played this in its 30 year history! Thank you rage!!
I had an NTSC copy but like most NTSC conversions of PAL clips from that era, it was C R A P quality.
Wow. D a m n gets censored. Thought i better clarify in case people thought it was the other word.
I was very annoyed that they dropped 'Feel The Heat' and 'Alone Without You'.
I didn't know Wild Blue, but having just googled it (I see it was released here) I liked it. It's a shame they dropped that too.
