I am 26 years old so i grew up in ageneration that has forgotten about blues.i have played guitar since i was 10 years old and i have tried to learn other music so i can fit in with my peers. i have played all types of music from rock to jazz to classical but i am only happy playing blues.my name is rick blair my father is starting to make a name for himself playing blues his name is rj blair he goes by 601 blues he just like the beloved bb king has been accused of turning his back on the blues and being to far on the rock side .there is no such thing blues is what you make of it if that is what you feel at the time than it is blues.the only lead licks you can play that make the hair stand up on the back of your neck and is comparable to sex is blues and don't you forget it

Elam McKnight is the Real Deal

Listen: If you are making an informed buying decision based on reviews, then read this one. Elam McKnight & Keith Carter are the real deal. No they are not going to lend creedence to the current ******** rock blues genre of today. They are also not going to give credit to the cheap imitators that play note for note renditions of Charlie Patton, Blind Willie Johnson, and the more famous Robert of the same last name. Elam and Keith are also not going to roll over and play cover songs that would be ear candy for the masses. Thats the first three stars that I give them. The most important thing to remember(for me) when listening to traditionalists that they must have enough good sense to make the music their own and whether playing traditional blues standards in a more creative and modernized way, or writing original tunes with one foot deep in the genre(I'm talking really deep, not 40 years ago deep) is to do it with the spirit of the founders, and that in itself an anomolie, to say the least. That takes guts. Thats my 4th star to thier effort. The reason I give them the full five star rating is because they are genuinely good folks, from TN, and are doing thier best to make great music, in light of all of the pitfalls of the music bizness, and they are doing it selflessly, and would more than likely take you into there home, give you a cold one, and play you some good live music on thier porch, if they thought you would like it. These qualities are rare at best, and although I know Elam personally, this is not a cheap attempt at trying to endorse him because I am acquainted with him. I honestly feel that you should add this record to your collection. I

I have listen to B.B king every since I was little. I remember the first song that I heard him sing was "She's a getto woman" I have never gotten the chance to meet him or go to one of his concerts, but that is my one dream in life is to meet him in person. Don't laugh when I tell you this, but when I was little I use to tell my dad that B.B was going to be his son-in-law. My dad would shake his head and tell me to go sit down somewhere. At one time I had all kinds of things about B.B, I use to try and buy every song he came out with, but someone broke in my house and I lost it all. I don't know if he will see this page or not, but if he doesn't would you please tell him that he has one fan out here that loves him to death. I hope that one day my dream will come true.
