What a great website , full of information relating to the fantastic bordercollies. We are on our second collie,Max a 10 year old tricolour who we have had from a puppy. We lost our first collie Gyp to cancer at 6 years old .Max has been a handful to train. He still thinks he is a puppy. I spend a lot of time with him giving him mental stimulation and he still learns new things .He loves to work for us , bringing slippers ( wherever he has left them) when we get home and he brings the post ,one by one as he knows he gets a treat for each one. People we know have asked if border collies are easy to train. We have told them yes if you know hwat you are doing or they will train you.We went on one of our usual walks and came across one of your rescue collies 14 years old

Very impressed with everything you do and particularly the detail you go to to make sure that the dogs you rehome are matched to their new owners. To date we have owned or should that be \'owned by\' seven collies, two pups and five \'rescued\' but all came as totally unknown, not matched in any way apart from the fact we like what we saw. Have recently lost one after 16 years, very sad just wished they lived longer, and our other collie who is 15 years old, is not in the best of health. We will definitely be in touch when we decide to get another collie but not sure when that will be. Have already fallen in love with some of the dogs on your web site. Congratulations on a fantastic rescue centre, brilliant web site and for doing such a brilliant job.

You are doing an amazing job. I have two sheep dogs, one I had from a pup, just the usual demanding dog, and one we got from a farm, aged five months, kept in a small horse box all his life, now five and still scared of the world, but so full of love! Can I make a suggestion? If you could build up a shop with lots of sheepdog stuff you would make money for your dogs and people like me would buy them for myself and as presents. Plus other dog stuff, leads, bowls etc. I'd rather support you than Pets at Home!

I have been following your site for some time now. Keep up the good work. Pity you are so far from me, as now being retired, I have time to spare and would have loved to help out in some way. I am a Border Collie owner and have been for my years doing obedience and agility in the past.

I have been a regular visitor to your site for a few years now. I have laughed and cried at the stories of your beautiful dogs. I would love to have a border collie but I am away all day, have a small place to live and issues with my legs, so it will never happen. My sister's family have a "rescued" border collie mix named Dutchie who is the sweetest girl. She was found lying by her elderly owner's side after he had a stroke and was very scared of other people at first (they think she didn't understand English as her owner spoke Hungarian) Bravo to all at Wiccaweys for the love and good work that saves other dogs who just need to be loved.

Yes, I still have tears in my eyes reading through your site, particularly in relation to the atrocities in Ireland (where I'm from) - I met one of your Cork volunteers one day while out walking with my girl (beautiful blue-eyed border collie from Kildare) - one who I think would have had something awful happen her if I hadn't have taken her as a puppy - she had potentially fatal amounts of worms coming out both ends - that Irish farmer mentality of a 'useless tool' and I can tell you I remember my Grandmother drowning puppies when I was a small child and me trying to hide them from her after they were born in a corner of the farmyard. I was about 4 years old.
I would love to come over and visit your place sometime. I have just moved to Spain & have been waiting for my dog to get here - she's taking a roadtrip here with my boyfriend all the way from Ireland!
If there are any volunteers needed as far away as Spain, let me know.
You are truly wonderful.

I've been visiting you website regularly for a few years now and love it when I see 're-homed' appear next to a dog's name, it always makes me feel so happy to know you have been so succesful in finding homes for so many lovely dogs. I have 2 rescue collies at the moment, Tilly the drama queen who is 5 years old and 7 year old Jake who's answer to every question is 'ball!'.
I recently lost my beautiful deaf boy ,Toby, he was a fantastic dog, so obedient and intelligent, I called him my shadow as he never let me out of his sight . I took great comfort from reading 'the rainbow bridge ' the day after I lost him on 5th december 2010 , and then nearly fell off my chair when I clicked on to 'dog of the month' as there staring back at me was little Harvey! he is almost identical to my Toby !! even down to the seperation issues , obviously Toby's were down to him being deaf and we learned tricks to overcome them , but it seems so uncanny? Toby was only 6 so it has been hard to come to terms with but we're getting there now , and poor Harvey lost his mum, my daughter say's It is fate that Harvey is dog of the month and I have an empty dog bed , maybe Toby was sending me a message?? Maybe you'll be getting a call from me about Harvey?? what ever happens I will be looking in on Wicc's and rooting for all the dogs to find new homes soon as I always do.
Wishing you a wonderful wooffy new year and thank you on behalf of all dogs and dog lovers for all the brilliant work you do.
Kay, Tilly & Jake
