Here is the DOD Public Record for Harold C Allinson

Name : HAROLD C ALLINSON
Service : ARMY
Pay Grade : E-5
Military Specialty : 0013E4O
Home of Record : Unknown

So it would appear he was an artillery sergeant as his MOS shows him as a cannon fire direction specialist but beyond that...

Interesting link with documents:
NARA Form 13164 (with Branch of Service and Serial/Service Numbers)
Record of Assignments

It appeared in the Lexington Herald-Leader on July 4th last year.

Re: Veteran Claiming Award of Silver Star Alleged with A Btry 6/14th Arty 1968-69

I've read the article and seen his picture.

In the past, I have brought into my household three vets needing shelter and care. Two went on to being well on their own. One just could not get out of the bottle. I helped them all that I could. All three had valid allusions to what they did in the service of our country. All were dirt poor when I took them in.

I hope that someone nearby can help this man. He maybe right in what he claims or could be dreaming what it should be. I can't be the judge and jury nor should anyone else till you walk the mile with him. I've done it, it's not fun.

I've helped many to correct their military records. It's not an easy job to do. A kind thank you is all I expected.

So, I'm not a real Red Leg. Just an AV CWO that has done a lot of different things in the service of my country and those who have served. Has anyone stepped forward to assist this man? Until someone can come forward and say Yes I have and this is what I have done, I think this belittlement of an individual is a bit harsh.

True, Records are Records. Rarely do they speak the facts of history. I have gone into the Army Archives over 300 times to assist others. What a Zoo! Morning Reports don't match official records, flight missions and hospital records and so on.

First impression by his photo, this guy needs some steps, a helping hand. Can anyone help?
