As someone put it to me, NAGS was/is facing a perfect storm.
The recent price tariffs were the catalyst. Blaming anyone for those tariffs is irrelevant, they're coming. Thinking that only pricing on Chinese parts will be effected, is, at best, naive. In fact, many have already announced "across the board" increases.
Since Nags would then have no choice but to raise benchmark pricing a significant amount, since "acquisition costs from confidential and anonymous sources" would no longer provide a shield from scrutiny, and since leaving things the way they were, isn't viable either, there was only one solution left.
The Emperor needed new clothes, again.
The question now is, what will the new clothes be, and will many continue to look away, thinking they are the only ones that noticed that the Emperor is really naked?
We shall see what the new Colonel's Secret Recipe is, shortly.
