For years I have ordered all my AS2 glass from Pilkington-well they are no longer stocking it. I need grey and bronze for my classic car customers along w/ the school buses in this county. I have contacted Mygrant-PPG--they don't carry the grey or bronze. Every other glass distributor sells AS1 which might be too thick for the bus frame. Any help on where I can purchase some would be appreciated. I am in Florida

Usually large flat glass co's will have grey and bronze lami. Do a Google search in your area. Most side glass on newer school buses is 1/8 tempered. If you have someone that tempers it might be the way to go. Trouble with this is the sizes they sell, 90 X 130 and bigger. If you have the equipment to handle these this is the way to go. Some of these co's will give a free cut to get the glass smaller so you can handle it easier but you still have to have the racks to store it. Or order cut size, costs more so pass the costs along. I also called Truelite today--they have only 1/4 also..they referred me to Flat Glass Dist.--1/4in only also...I cant believe it.

If you have a bus glass distributor near you, they sell grey and bronze, 38X60 7/16" and 3/16" individual lites. If not, the shipping costs will kill you. I do not recommend cutting 1/8" glass and tempering it for a bus, they need a DOT# on them. That is a super liability issue. I am surprised that flat glass distributors do not carry bronze and grey, AS3, stock sheets for store front and door lite replacements. But if the did it probably would be 1/4". Remember that they normally buy stock sizes in 1,000 square foot pallets. So if they will only sell a sheet or two, here and there, they will only bring in what they have a calling for or will not bring in it at all. Hope that helps.
