2014 Porsche Cayenne Installation

I have a 2014 Porsche Cayenne windshield installation (FW 3287 GYY)scheduled first thing tomorrow morning. This will be my first time doing one of these. Is there anything tricky about this installation? How are the rear view mirror housing and the actual mirror itself removed? Thanks in advance for any input.

Re: 2014 Porsche Cayenne Installation

The rearview mirror is a breakaway spring clip mount. If you firmly grasp mirror at the base, you can twist it counterclockwise to release. The most difficult part is dropping the overhead console to unplug the mirror necessary to feed wire through bracket on windshield. Gently pry the plastic bezel to release from console, then locate flange clips that lock console to headliner above the headliner at rear and pull down console from the rear. The console will pivot on hinge pins at front, not necessary to completely remove console. The flange clips may bend out of shape, just bend back in shape with needle nose before resetting.
Here's a video link on a 2013 model which is the same. https://youtu.be/KKbl_IllBT8 Hope this helps.
