Have a customer with a 2013 Lexus GX 460 (FW 3228) and having problems with the clips and the finish molding. The dealership told us that that you have to install new clips, remove and replace the rivets and replace the finish molding on both sides in order to do the installation. In other words, you basically have to destroy everything to get the windshield out and then replace it all. Is this correct? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I was also told by the dealership that the same holds true for the IS models. Anybody have any experience with this?????
According to my tech plastic clips that are riveted , use a panel tool to pop the molding up, can save molding but clips will be destroyed. Looks like the OEM clips are not that bad price...
Hope this helps, Like anything I am sure once you do one side the other will be a breeze.
