ELI5 'acoustic interlayer'

Maybe not eli5, but I don't get this...

Re: ELI5 'acoustic interlayer'

Appears I did a flyby.

What's the gig with these besides price?

Thicker lami...thicker interior lite..?

I visibly see zero difference between 'regular' and 'acoustic interlayer'

Re: ELI5 'acoustic interlayer'

How about a car that you are talking about :)

Should be completely irrelevant, but I'll play along.

1585 / 1611

What Rod said about Carlite could also apply to all OEM's

It was a totally relevant question, the PVB in the 1611 has sound deadening properties, and if it has one in there, and then you swap it, unless they are driving around blaring rap music (or whatever really loud) they are going to know the difference. When these 1st came out I forget who it was had a patent on the PVB, now you see it in the aftermarket as others have come up with ways to replicate it.

what is that part 11 years old?? :)

While we are at it how about the 1417 / 1474 the 1474 is thicker they had to change it due to all the noise complaints...
