2004 volvo s60 front door glass

So I have a 2004 s60 and someone ripped the laminated door glass out and I have to replace the regulator. Is there a reset button for these the old one and the new one will only travel in one direction and wont even move in the other. Tried taking the motor off the old one and it still on travels in one direction. Any help would be appreciated.

Bad switch maybe? Can you run 12v hot to the motor and reverse polarity?

Many times a quick light blast of wd40 at the switch contacts can help revive them.
