Direct Billing Answers

When billing a Ins. Co. Direct you simply get the fax #
to the claims dept. as if you were the insured faxing a invoice
to be reimbursed for work done.
This is a start. From there if they send it on to a TPA you simply
go after the short pay.
Typically the claims dept will call you and tell you the claim is
supposed to be run through their TPA and handled that way, but you
let them know you do not work with TPA,s and demand payment with the claims dept.

GARY HART is supposed to be working on a system to help with this matter
we have not heard much lately about the open claims program he is supposed
to be launching.

Re: Direct Billing Answers

Thank you Pro Claim Service! This is exactly like we do it on a daily basis. Direct billing is very simple and gets easier as you go. I see posts on some of the threads here about direct billing by those that think that they know about the law and policy language and TPA's, etc.. Most of them have no clue. When you try to help them understand the process, they want to argue that their view of how insurance companies react to direct billing or how their interpretation of policy language is correct. Maybe in their imagination, but not in real life.

With the right A.O.B., that includes the right to file FNOL and a digital record of the damage for every job, you will not have a problem getting paid for the vast majority of them. A good lawyer can provide resolution to those that you do encounter a problem with.

We switched to direct billing 18 months ago and we direct bill everybody now and have direct billed thousands of jobs. There was a learning curve in dealing with each company and it takes about 6 months to get a rhythm going at volume. We now get paid by most companies in less time than it was taking through TPA's and at OUR rates, not theirs. We have an excellent legal team on our side and work with an awesome appraisal service.

We are growing rapidly because we are profitable. We are profitable because we direct bill.
