The auto insurance companies are feeling the heat! The Body Shops vs Hartford case will be settled soon after over a decade of appeals.
Body shops from 14 states or more are filing lawsuits. State Attorney Generals are filing lawsuits.
Repair shops are getting out of the networks and direct billing the insurance companies.
Now the insurance companies see the handwriting on the wall and are sending their lobbiests to congress to try to stop attorneys from getting legal fees for representing repair shops on no pays and short pays.

We need to fight any legislation that takes away our ability to fight unfair insurance company tactics in court.
Seems odd they could eliminate my right to legal representation, lawyers should have something to say about this in the legislature. This doesn't affect just the 3rd party.
I would think IGA/MGA Should get on this because they are targeting Florida and Minnesota. If they can't beat shops legally they have been trying to do it legislatively. Mark1, IGA, MGA, Let's hear from those closer to the front line.... or that are "in the KNOW". Get this to the IGA site......
Just because the current discussion revolves around construction contractors getting insured homeowners to assign their policy benefits over to them in consideration for the repair work doesn't mean that if the law passes it won't affect the auto repair industry also.
Bills of this nature need to be nipped in the proverbial bud.
