once you open a business, and you realize the business owns you, what is the next step?
Especially the one man operations? This may be a stepping stone, if you find another path
it would help if you provide links and explanations. a good technician isn't necessarily a good business owner. this is a different business, but maybe business is business, and there must be steps to go from technician to owner but what are they? If there were a good example to follow i would be following it, where are our industry mentors?
You bring up GREAT points. When I started I was just doing this company for myself, I didn't even think of franchising! Now 18 years later and a ton of mistakes I wish I had had a mentor! Do you have any friends in business that they could advise you? Can you join the local Chamber of Commerce in your area and see if they have a mentoring program or quite a few times your local government has a business advisory group that you could join. There are a lot of us who wished they had someone along the line...Good Luck and Be Honest and price your self accordingly by doing the right thing!
