IGA Announces New Industry Changing Program at Auto Glass Week 2014
On Wednesday night, October 8, 2014, the IGA announced a new IGA program that finally allows glass shops to invoice their fair and reasonable pricing without any interference. Initially, the program will be with insurance companies, to be announced soon, that use the newly announced ACD Corporation and eDirectGlass platform.
More details and coverage will be posted and reported on here soon. We are all trying to get back from Baltimore so please be patient. The feedback from the event was overwhelming positive.

No charge to invoice unless your point-of-sale system chooses to and as always, there is never a charge if you use the IGA Total Shop Management or eDirectGlass system.
Yes, you will be able to "self authorize" online without having to call anyone!

When will this program be up & running? Will you have the capability to set up direct claims & be paid directly from companies that SGC now handles the claims for?
(Geico Nationwide Liberty Mutual & all others)

The first insurance company and their annual claims volume will be announced in October. As for other insurance companies that have existing TPA contracts, those will have to wait until either the insurance company voids the current agreement or it expires.
In the meantime, the industry can get used to the new model and through that, things will naturally accelerate.

I do hope I am wrong & hate to rain on the Parade but I don't see the Insurance Companies going through all the time, effort & $$$ to implement this program. Especially if once the program in place it may cost them more $$$ per claim then it does now. What is their up side to jumping on the band wagon?
Re: IGA Announces New Industry Changing Program at Auto Glass Week 2014
It actually does not cost an insurance company more because GAI is actually the most expensive contractual method to begin with. Traditional network programs have evolved from simple pricing agreements to those that result in excess fees from litigation, management, etc. through the GAI arrangement.
The due diligence that ACD has put in to looking at what an insurer can really gain from GAI found that it is financially toxic in the long-term.
Adopting an open model is actually a financially better model because it removes the major friction points that cause financial harm.
Many top carriers have been pitched this concept over the last few months and they are all very excited at the prospect of such a market.
