Judge allows Safelite to amend Connecticut lawsuit to seek attorney fees

If they pull this off, stick a fork in the industry because it's done. Apparently the Justice system designed to protect American businesses is broken. Too many politicians are more concerned with their $$$$ donations then then what is fair to the American people.

Re: Judge allows Safelite to amend Connecticut lawsuit to seek attorney fees

The politicians voted the bill into a law obviously they care. Safelite spent millions fighting it in court one has nothing to do with the other.

One judge made the reversal, wonder what happened there?
Ooops...

Re: Judge allows Safelite to amend Connecticut lawsuit to seek attorney fees

Three judges ruled and one wrote the opinion. Of course their ruling was based on the assumption that everything the Safelite lawyers were putting forth was true. The State of CT did very little bring forth the truth.

Re: Judge allows Safelite to amend Connecticut lawsuit to seek attorney fees

So if they get away with another atrocity, exactly WHO would be paying their attorney's fees? Could it possibly be the "TAX PAYERS" or rightly called CONSUMERS? hmmmmm......

Re: Judge allows Safelite to amend Connecticut lawsuit to seek attorney fees

I wonder what, incredible and inflated, amount they put on their attorney's fees? It just figures, where does it go from here?? And who pays??

If the judge awards Safelite attorneys fees, the State of Connecticut would be liable for paying the fees which means the taxpayers ultimately would pay.

Hopefully, Ct's attorneys will prevail. After all, Safelite could or should have foreseen such lawsuits when they came up with their so called business model.

One good thing can come out of this case. The appellate court judges have essentially concluded that Safelite Solutions is actually a competitor to all the other non-Safelite auto glass repair facilities and that the 1st amendment, which also protects corporate free speech, protects Safelite from being forced by the State of CT to divulge to prospective customers names of its competitors.

This same reasoning should be applied to insurance companies that are forcing non-Safelite glass repair facilities to divulge names of their client/customers to competitor Safelite.

Also, since Safelite Solutions is now declared a competitor to non-Safelite glass shops, joining the Safelite network should be declared a per-se violation of horizontal price fixing law.

Pay attention.

JB's almost got it nailed down, and is very much on the right track, and it all comes straight from the proverbial horse's mouth, quite literally, and in their own legal briefs and pleadings.

I seen the control they have to tilt a vote in their favor. South Carolina was a great example of that. When Alan was making his final charge before he sold out Safelite sent in their big chiefs to the State house and had a closed door meeting. Needless to say all the work and money put in for that was a waste. Face it, they control the industry!!
