It starts from the top down. Andy B AND Larry T are both frauds who believe they have enough layers between them and the guy you encountered. They sit back and make a lot of money while training a sub culture/glass army to go sell I can fix your windshield. MLM at its best. You are right they should be shut down and arrested for fraud but the feds need to do that. Your local police/authorities only will get the poor guy at the gas station who has been promised a life of wealth if he just sells and develops people just like him. Sad but true.
SLITE was more concerned about the replacement business then the repair business so that was the focus I would guess that the $300 claim was more then the insurance companies could stomach so they used slite and NCIC to put enough hurdles into the process to remove C2C/CHIPIO from replacement game. The repair business is a different model repairs on avg $50 and done on site not scheduled out allowing for slite interference.
We all have to watch what happens in CT. This will be a landmark case setting precedence. Hacklite knows that if they lose this. Its all down hill. Like a snow ball effect for all other states to follow. That's why they are tying so much money and effort into this case. Stay strong independent CT auto glass shop owners....

Well XS; it looks like CT is finished and Safelite got their commercial free speech protected. What will it take for the CT AG to finally explain it to the politicians? Will someone have to go postal in Columbus for the country to understand that a Belgian company seeks to put more businesses in BK?
My problem is this: If they were not really effectively steering a ton of business Safelite's way, why would Safelite Solutions fight so hard to restore something that wasn't important to begin with?
With regard to commercial free speech and 1st Amendment rights, why is it that all glass shops cannot exercise their 5th Amendment rights to not say anything that will harm their businesses? Every time we have to allow a customer to report that they are at our shop (and warn our competitor that there is an opportunity to steal a job from us), is this not patently unfair?
