Chippio Glass

I was just at a gas station here in San Diego, Calf.

And a Windshield repair guy came out of no where and asked if he

could clean my windshield, I said yes and from there he asked

if he could repair it because I had some bird **** that failed

to come off when he cleaned it. I played stupid and asked how much it would

cost, he said sir it,s free and then asked who my Insurance Company was.

ok I played along some more and I tell him AAA ins. he then told me he

can bill them direct and we need not call them to get authorization.

I then said how long will this take he said about 3 to 5 min.

again I said are you sure you can fix it he said yes. He then gave me

1.00 too buy a complementary soft drink and it will be finished when I return

so I went ahead and left my car and went inside the C store and bought my

water. Watching from inside the store he simply wiped the bird **** off

and was standing next to my car waiting for me to return. I asked him

where is the finished result he said right here I said no scar

it is 100% gone, he said yes. Then I pull out my Business card

and handed to him which tells him I own a Auto glass shop.

He just about begged me not to report him.

I have reported this to the proper authorities, I read another

forum about Chippio and now have experienced it myself 1st hand

how can they get away with this for this long? Scamming millions.

Hopefully this can be stopped.

Re: Chippio Glass

It starts from the top down. Andy B AND Larry T are both frauds who believe they have enough layers between them and the guy you encountered. They sit back and make a lot of money while training a sub culture/glass army to go sell I can fix your windshield. MLM at its best. You are right they should be shut down and arrested for fraud but the feds need to do that. Your local police/authorities only will get the poor guy at the gas station who has been promised a life of wealth if he just sells and develops people just like him. Sad but true.

Re: Chippio Glass

You nailed it on the head. It is similar to the drug culture, the

top of the latter are people who never see or touch the product

they sell it is only the poor mules that get caught time and time

again. It is quite interesting why Slite Solutions and the NCIC unit

have not shut this operation down. They are all about stopping the fraud.

well where are you Slite/NCIC is this more then you can handle I am

afraid it is. They would rather sink all their money into their Ct. Problem

then focus on the real issues. Vision Autoglass/Izon Autoglass/Coast to Coast

Autoglass shop are all in this program together. They have been running

this business model for over 15years and not stopping until???????

They periodically change their shop name and Corp. and continue with the

business model. Jeff S. Andy B. Frank/Dominic G. Larry T. all work together

on this program selling shops to each other to keep the law confused.

Good job I would say. It is working for them right?

Just sayin

Re: Chippio Glass

SLITE was more concerned about the replacement business then the repair business so that was the focus I would guess that the $300 claim was more then the insurance companies could stomach so they used slite and NCIC to put enough hurdles into the process to remove C2C/CHIPIO from replacement game. The repair business is a different model repairs on avg $50 and done on site not scheduled out allowing for slite interference.

Re: Chippio Glass

We all have to watch what happens in CT. This will be a landmark case setting precedence. Hacklite knows that if they lose this. Its all down hill. Like a snow ball effect for all other states to follow. That's why they are tying so much money and effort into this case. Stay strong independent CT auto glass shop owners....

Well XS; it looks like CT is finished and Safelite got their commercial free speech protected. What will it take for the CT AG to finally explain it to the politicians? Will someone have to go postal in Columbus for the country to understand that a Belgian company seeks to put more businesses in BK?

My problem is this: If they were not really effectively steering a ton of business Safelite's way, why would Safelite Solutions fight so hard to restore something that wasn't important to begin with?

With regard to commercial free speech and 1st Amendment rights, why is it that all glass shops cannot exercise their 5th Amendment rights to not say anything that will harm their businesses? Every time we have to allow a customer to report that they are at our shop (and warn our competitor that there is an opportunity to steal a job from us), is this not patently unfair?
