I find it quite annoying that the Rage facebook page can post links to eighties videos ('Tell It To My Heart' and 'Born In the USA') and say "Flashback Tuesday!", but not bother to play any. Granted they are both really common ones, but even an hour of eighties a week would throw up some rareties.
I think rage should have more electronica vaults. They have only seemed to have one in the last 6 months or so which was UK Garage. The rest are mostly alternative. It's ridiculous.
1984 theme tonight. Few gems in there
^ Yes. I'm a bit later than usual today.

I heard somewhere that 1984 was voted the best year in music. A year theme is great.
I'm pretty sure rage has never played "Remember The Nights".
What a STUNNING special!!!!!!!!!!
Recording now, sighhhhhh
I emailed you just now as I am watching and recording live ....
My DVD Recorder decided to have a fit during Tenna Marie with Lovergirl as the disc space was about to run out and that was just before Diana Ross with Swept Away which I REALLLY wanted desperately!!!!!! I need both of those videos.
Also, I had a sound cut out during Bronski Beat with Why?
Can you please check your email and get back to me when you can.
As I mentioned to Jason, 'Miss Me Blind', 'Tenderness', 'Dancing With Tears In My Eyes', 'Swept Away', 'Yah Mo B There', 'Caribbean Queen', the Billy Joel & Elton John songs, 'Sunglasses At Night', and 'Lights Out' are all enlarged slightly beyond 4:3 (but not enough to appear widescreen), so part of the picture is chopped off when recording in 4:3 [[:-|] I think 1 or 2 others were affected, too.
I really wish rage wouldn't tamper with the aspect ratio of 4:3 clips.
That 1984 Vault was one of the best I have seen since they started these Monday night Vault segments. So many clips that I had not seen on Rage before. Apart from a few exceptions they were mostly lesser chart singles which is always nice to see.
I remember the Teena Marie single as a 1985 song as that's when I first heard it. Lovergirl was in the charts at the same time as Billy Ocean's Loverboy from memory, which was one of those quirky 1985 occurrences similar to there being 3 Power Of Love singles reach the Top 10 and artists called King, Queen, Prince and Princess all charting in the same year.
Would love it if they could do the same for other 80's years as well.
Songs with 'boy' or 'girl' in the title seems to be the theme tonight:

Joan Armatrading got chopped, but I think they've played that clip a couple of times over the past year.
No playlist for tonight yet, but here's the theme:
(commenter) The electronica/downtempo/trip hop vault was very good this morning.

Though yes, some of those are actually 1986 tracks... while others weren't released (at least not here) until 1988 (Guns N' Roses, and Sinead I'm pretty sure).
Shame about all of the repeats (some which have been shown in earlier Vault episodes - Alexander O'Neal, Carly Simon, T'Pau) and common clips.
It's a good playlist now they've added quite a lot of pop, it seems more balanced. Nothing I need particularly, they haven't gone out of their way to find anything rare.
Debbie Gibson - Only In My Dreams <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
I haven't seen Only In My Dreams for awhile, so appreciated a new copy.
Would lvoe rage to play Foolish beat which is my fav Debbie moment ... Anything Is Possible would also be great

Is the theme 1977-8?
I don't know, but f@#k me, what a playlist! I can't remember when rage did a 70s special?😎
Closest thing to a full-blown 1970s special that I can recall off-hand was the tribute to the late Michael Shrimpton.
Was that Bonnie Tyler 'It's a Heartache' video a Countdown performance, does anyone know? Or ripped from a Countdown episode? I didn't spot the Countdown logo in the background anywhere, but the audience cheer sounded very much like a Countdown one.
I would say some European music show.
By the way, I loved how they played the 80s remix versions of 'Every 1's a Winner' and 'Rivers of Babylon' as part of this 70s-themed episode . I knew they would.
I think the theme tonight is 1990 electronic music... though some of these are 1989 or 1991.

Very happy with some selections this week.
I love Inner City and it will be brilliant to get a nice copy of Watcha Gonna Do With My Lovin' and Caron Wheeler is one of my favourite female vocalists and Livin' In The Light is my favourite track of hers so getting this video is FABULOUS!
Also love Manatronix, good stuff
And 2 STATIC Boy I'll House Ya is brillllll and The Shamen selection is a great one
Would have been a lovely change to play Power Of Love from Dee-Lite instead of Groove Is In The Heart and from Beats International 'Won't Talk About It' which is such a slice of GENIUS.
Good to see The Beloved in there too, would have loved 24 Hours from Betty Boo instead of Where Are You Baby?
Though still, quite a few videos on this special though which haven't been played on rage in decades
I thought it was a good episode of rage. It was nice to see some good electronica classics being played. I noticed too that there were additional music videos than what was posted in the playlist on rage's Facebook page.
Unless I missed it (I don't think I did), they didn't air the Beats International clip; but that's OK, 'cause they have in recent years and I got a copy.
I was pleased to see the Betty Boo clip, even though it is a repeat, as my earlier rage recordings of it either had the watermark, or I got a signal glitch.
Some of the additional clips they aired were:
SOUL II SOUL Back To Life (However Do You Want Me)
YOUNG DISCIPLES Apparently Nothin'
ENGLANDNEWORDER World In Motion...
THE SOUP DRAGONS Pleasure
THE LIGHTNING SEEDS Pure
THE STONE ROSES One Love
HAPPY MONDAYS Step On
Beats International was cut, ahhhhh raggge .....
