COUNTDOWN August 17, 1980 (253: The Vapors, Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons)

OH MY WOW!

The COUNTDOWN episode I have requested for sooooo many years from August 17, 1980 with The Vapors, James Freud, Xanadu Bits, Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons etc was just as PERFECT as I knew it would be. I thought rage would never air it as again I have begged for the episode for so many years emailing them my list every year I always list this episode. I FINALLY have it ... And oh, those radio jingles were sensational! I NEED those XANADU tops so badly! ... May I ad, when the intro began with the XANADU scenes, I DIED!
I shall burn so many copies and keep it filed in so many places <3 sigh xoxoxoxo I MISS you Countdown so much already <3 I LOVE YOU!

Fun Facts about the Xanadu Contest Stations 40 Years Later:

4BC is now by Nine Radio (The Only One of the Six Stations in 1980 Still using it’s Callsign, but now a Talk Station), as is 3XY (Now known as Magic 1278).

2WS and 5AD are now both Owned by the Australian Radio Network as WSFM & Mix 102.3 Respectively.

Finally, 6PM (Previously Hit 92.9) & 7HT (Previously Heart 107) are now part of Southern Cross Austereo’s Triple M Network.

Now you know the Facts.
