In the Spectrum lift-out in today's SMH, there is an article on rage turning 30 and it opens as follows:
"It's just after 5pm on a Wednesday. Rage producer Tyson Koh is looking through a camera at '90s indie band the Clouds, who are filming song introductions for an upcoming guest programming slot. Koh has a problem: the boom operator clocked off at 5pm. As the only other non-Cloud left in the room, I'm drummed into service. I find myself holding a fluff-covered microphone on the end of a large stick, and try – not entirely successfully – to keep it both off-camera and within range of the Clouds' voices as they discuss the video for their 1994 song Boy of Air."
Woo hoo! I never expected rage to ever do a Clouds guest programming again, but am so glad that they are. I loved that band - such great song-writers and performers. I hope they play all their clips.
I wonder if the Clouds are reforming or have a new song coming out?
I love the song with one of the girls in the band who did the duet with the dude from Weddings, Parties and Anything - 'Step In, Step Out' from 1992.
It'll be interesting to see what clips they play too.
I looked ahead on the electronic TV guide and they're guest programming this coming weekend.
Nothing too exciting (for me) in the blurb preview on the rage website:
DEVO Girl U Want
IGGY POP Five Foot One
WEEZER Hash Pipe
BUZZCOCKS Ever Fallen In Love
KISS Rock 'N' Roll All Nite
MASSIVE ATTACK Teardrop
Well let's see what else they play when the playlist comes out
I'm mainly interested to see if they play all the Clouds clips. The ones that rage haven't played in the digital era are:
Boy Of Air
Down From The Sky
Cloud Factory was played in 2003 but I didn't have a digital PC recorder then.
