Videos aired on Countdown for unreleased singles by major artists?

I had always assumed that the videos played were to tie in with current or upcoming singles (unless they were from a new, undiscovered act).

One that stands out as seemingly having no Australian release is 'Hard Woman' by Mick Jagger, aired on the 9th January, 1986 episode.

Another is 'Take Me With U' by Prince & The Revolution, aired on 17 March, 1985.

Were these cancelled in Australia for some reason? It seems odd that they would go to the effort to feature them if they were unavailable to buy (apart from on the parent albums).
