Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

I am really looking forward to this Eurogliders episode which we had voted our most wanted from 1983. Looks to be a great show.

November 2 1986 is a brilliant episode for that year with fantastic live performances from Geisha, Manikins, Crowded House and John Justin. Another episode from our list and also looking forward to that one.

The Nov 16 episode has not been shown on Rage before so happy to see that. Doesn't appear to be anything outstanding there but good to see another non-repeated Countdown.

3 Countdowns and 3 Rock Arena's is pretty good going for us Countdown era fans. Wonder if they will show Hitscene etc on the last night as that has really been neglected this year?

Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

Rage Retro looks great this Saturday - I've been asking for the 1983 Countdown for years and am delighted it's finally being shown.

I've had 4 Countdowns I've asked for shown this year so am happy with that for sure. Hopefully Rage will show 1 Countdown Revolution episode in Retro 4 though - would be good to see.

Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

I actually can do without Revolution, I just want Countdown, Countdown and Countdown (hehehehe)

Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

1983 Annie Lennox interview!

That 1983 Countdown episode aired about 2-3 weeks before 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Love Is a Stranger' entered the top 50 (in the same week), so I guess Eurythmics would still have been quite unknown in Oz at that time.

Belinda Carlisle 'I Feel the Magic' in PAL too (I only had an NTSC copy)! Bananarama's 'More Than Physical' as a new release! The The's 'Heartland'! 'You Keep Me Hangin' On' and 'Walk Like an Eyptian' would have been new releases then, too.

Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

The images of Annie Lennox from 1983 used to scare me as a kid. With her bright orange hair, pose and wearing a suit. .

Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

A clip for Save Your Love in the '83 show? I'll be watching that!

Really? Gawd... I thought she was GLORIOUS and STILL do! I CAN'T WAIT for this interview, I am SURE she will look DIVINE M*A*G*I*C

Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

She looked glorious in 'Would I Lie To You'! and the cover of 'Be Yourself Tonight'.

Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

Don't get me wrong, I will be eagerly waiting for this. The Eurythmics and Australian Crawl are my 2 favourite groups.

Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

I like how Toto Coelo had gone to "Twenty Twoth" position on the charts.

I spotted that too. Shame it was their last hit.

Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

The 1983 Eurogliders and 1986 Elton John episodes are just about the best shows I have seen for those years.

Thanks Patrick and Michael for asking for those shows.

Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

No worries - I've wanted that 1983 Eurogliders episode for years and am glad it's finally been shown. Rage have been good to me this year with 4 Countdowns I've requested being shown.

I think I asked for 8 on my usual list and am now just down to 4 - not a bad effort! Look forward to what Retro Week 4 is like....

Sorry Bob, but I requested the John Farnham episode. The Elton episode was a joint effort. I actually thought the JF episode was better than Elton John - not being bias, but so many well known hits/videos.

Re: FULL COUNTDOWN PROGRAM DETAILS for 'rage goes retro 3'

ie the hits that got me into watching Countdown. Those clips really summed up a time of memories.
