Is this from the mysterious source mentioned on the footage found site?

According to that site its from 10 September 1978 (an episode that doesn't come up in the archives).

If that's true then its good to hear that the ABC have been given access to the material to copy and broadcast.

Ross looked oddly youthful and thin in the clip.

Does thi smean we might see Love Shock and other believed lost performances from wiped episodes in the near future?

I too thought the Mondo Rock performance this morning was very interesting indeed ... NEVER seen that one before!

I just assumed that the clip came from the Nov 4 1978 Peter Frampton hosted episode when I saw it in the listings.

Having just checked that, and it appears to definitely be a different live performance clip. I will have to compare and check later as I am currently burning a DVD from the HDD so can't check now.

It may have come from a Countdown compile tape of snippets from lost episodes such as the following:
