Re: Wanted:Pair of rear brake drum for a 30 614 for wire wheels

Norm's pics look like 2 6-14 frames and a 6-14 parts car. So frustrating if you need some of these parts. On my side of the country ( Washington state), member Keith Nordquist has a great 6-14 (wood wheel) parts car that includes engine, chassis, fenders and body(cowl forward) with a title! And he wants to sell. Member Adam Colbert has a wire wheel sedan parts car that should have the drum you need. He is in eastern Washington state, and this is a parts car from the late Mike Larsen's estate.

Yes and seeing the shocks / links and link plates just added to it. I ended up buying all four shocks / links / plates off eBay from New Hampshire. Had to chuckle at one pkg as customs had the contents as socks not shocks. Darned heavy socks. ha ha. US shocks Munro in casting and Canadian has Acme Gear Co of Toronto. I had the shock part only on front with arms cut off and ball cut off the link plates.
Have a feeling all that metal has gone for scrap, so no one wins.

Re: Wanted:Pair of rear brake drum for a 30 614 for wire wheels

Hi Dave .. I'm good for shocks now. It was seeing these piled up frames and rusty car with parts I and others could have used that was frustrating. Some lad in New Hampshire was selling 1930 shocks, fenders and other pieces for some fellow in Maine on eBay a few years back. I bought the front shocks, links and plates off him. Thought about the rear's and later bought those also as well. The late Ron Jaremkow up the valley from me with 407 could also have used parts off that sedan for his car like 4 dash pulls and the 2 dash spears but like me had hunted with no success. Checking my list of items bought for the 32 I paid $219.71 for front shocks and $220.22 for rears Canadian at the time which is shipping etc costs inc. Yes very expensive but when you can't find them you rethink not buying and when would you ever see those again, so bite the bullet. Ron had looked himself to find any shocks for years, he did put orig shocks on the front but tube ones on the rear where no one would see them, as he couldn't find a a full set of four. Again, if Ron couldn't find any, just more reason to buy the NH ones with arms, links and link plates. Then to see pictures later with 3 frames with all shock's rusting away in Ontario, so no shipping etc costs and no one could buy any of it ?? Its all going back to nature. sigh. I would have liked to have one of the 6 six bolt front drums (not greedy just one) but nope.

Guess what those door handles are off of in the 614 ? 1931 De Vaux.

Re: Wanted:Pair of rear brake drum for a 30 614 for wire wheels

Gentlemen:
I wish to inform you that the owner of the frames etc that were pictured on this previous message has passed away. However, most of his stuff is for sale, and some things like these frames, and other items that have been outside for many years are available for sale. His brother will sell them at a very reasonable price, but you have to attend and remove them your self.
His name is Frank, and his phone number is (519) 546-1926 He would be glad to talk to you.
If you are interested in any thing, I would suggest you call, or everything may be cleared out. There is a lot more that you cannot see in these above pictures.

Re: Wanted:Pair of rear brake drum for a 30 614 for wire wheels

The 32 drivers front drum has a chunk out of it which is why the looking. I went after Frank years ago when he was getting rid of a 618 parts car and he said he had nothing for the 32. (same thing 614 / 618 basically) I went after Frank again when I saw these parts sent to me from a DMAC meet at Ed's asking to buy the drum with the grease cap still on it, since at least six 6 bolt drums just sitting there. Nope. Steve went to the meet and was going to get the (or another) drum for me and get it to his sister in Belleville and I could try to get to her place to pick it up. Again no to Steve from Frank. Now I can't drive far for AMD he's selling parts ?? Guess it all goes for scrap.

I'm not sure if these will fit, but I have the rear drums from my '29 Model 63 that had the wire spoke wheels.
