Rick-A distributorless ignition system for our engines would sure be hard to disguise as stock! Individual coil packs and crank position sensors with a "Autolite" logo? But you could sure dial in the correct firing and bulletproof reliability!
I've learned a lot about this type of system on my Dodge 5.7 Hemi.
I have an extra 14L engine and would be interested in tuckering with a DIS.
My be a good Durant Speedster project.
Where Are You From? Fremont, CA
Do You own a car built by Durant? 1931 Model 619 and 1929 model 60 Roadster
Don- See technical page for Phil Peters article on a Pertronix ignition set-up. I followed it for my 6-14 system. Take those points out and run them over with your car!(although I never had any problem with the Durant set-up, just my British car Lucas distributor)
Don- The tech people at Petronix are very helpful. Maybe get all the info ready for the six cylinder set-up and ask what it would take to use it on a four cylinder(maybe just change the trigger wheel?)Ross
