Further to my last posting on 18th October it appears I have given the wrong engine type. Mine is a W5 by Continental Motors. With this new information anyone have the 'cold' valve tappet clearances??

Do You own a car built by Durant? 1929 Tourer

Hi, I have the W5 and I set mine at 8 thou cold. One part of the manual says 8 thou hot and another manual says 6 thou hot. I find 8 Thou cold is fine.Hope this helps.

Now if only my new pistons would turn up I could put the W5 back together.
