My 1927 Star 4 cyl. Runs about 10 sec. Then loads up and starts sputtering when I unplug vacuum line it smooths out again until fuel runs out, any suggestions on what problem could be?

I had problems similar and found it was an accumulation of dirt at the elbow by the fuel tank . Dropped the fuel tank and cleaned out and now it runs great . I originally thought it was a problem with carburetor or fuel system but it all cleared up with removing the accumulated dirt in the elbow
