escutcheon 1930-31

While sorting through parts from my 619, I found two types of escutcheon, Do you have any idea of which one is for a 619 and I assume the other from a 614.

The hexagonal one on the left is for a 6-14 (make sure it fits because some other make uses this type, only larger)

Re: escutcheon 1930-31

The 619 brochure clearly shows the right (round) one you have. And left as Bill says are for the 1930 spear handles. My 32 is different again used on the 1930 Essex and 32 407 / 614 / 618.

These DeVaux handles are close escutcheon I think that were sitting in Reg Bent's 1930 614 parts car at Ed Pringlemair's back yard 2013 meet. Not sure anything is there now with Ed's death and Frank cleaning up the place.

Re: escutcheon 1930-31

Thanks Norm, Yes the 619 Sales brochure show the rounds one.
"Unfortunately a previous owner damaged all nine of the ones from the 619 so I will try the ones for a 1934-36 Chevy instead. They are very close to the Durant escutcheon .

Yep recognize the forcing the pin out trying to get the handles off. Seen many like that over the years. Just a thought would Lance have any still from doing Charlie's 619 ? OZ Co before they shut down.

Re: escutcheon 1930-31

I have ordered a set of interior door handles from the Australian company. As reported they are closing down unless someone local will take over. I was informed the process will take three to four months to complete so there still is time to place an order. They are currently on a 1,400 mile round trip in their 1929 Dodge and will be away until May 11th.

Re: escutcheon 1930-31

That explains the damage to the escutcheon, the prior owner cut a 1/4" out of every escutcheon to remove the pins. Gueez...

Re: escutcheon 1930-31

But but it is hard to push the escutcheon back, pull handle forward and with two more hands, when you only have two, tap the pin out with nail / hammer. Not much give sometimes to get the pin out but lots of cussing.

Yes, I have found that working on these cars will expand one's vocabulary.

Re: escutcheon 1930-31

I'm very excited today, I received the reproduction Chevy escutcheon are are an excellent match.
The repro ID is 2mm wider, other than the Durant originals, but ost other details are very close.
The bright chrome hide the cone shape in the middle, but still theser are going to make the 619 interior Pop.

Don't forget to use the added vocabulary when installing them. They look great and since Chevy was Billy's can be forgiven, unlike using Ford parts.

Re: escutcheon 1930-31

My new handles arrived from Vintage Reproductions in Australia yesterday.
Coupled with the new escutcheon I think I've got a winning combination here.
