I had the water pump rebuilt for my 1928 Star. Wanted to know if there is a recommended length for the hose that connects the water pump to the generator/ distributor as well as the placement of the holes for the clamps on each end. I noticed that the water pump shaft moves back and forth and if pushed all the way in it hits the back plate. Looks like the hose needs to be connected so shaft is not pushed all the way in. The old hose was t really deteriorated to get a measurement. Thought maybe there were some specks or maybe someone can recommend an easy way to make it work.
