Piston installation

Re-assembling 1927 Continental 14L engine for the owner (Ron Weirsma), but now unsure of the orientation of the pistons. They are .040 oversize and have a slot on one side of the skirt. (expansion slot?)
Does it make a difference whether the slot in the skirt is on the drivers side or passenger side of the engine?
Thanks for the help! (You were right on about the camshaft sprocket bolt being LH)

Re: Piston installation

The slot side of the piston is on the valve side. This info comes from the Star Cars Repair manual dated September 1927.
