I'm not going to say it never happened, but, there were many, many, many various items manufactured under the Star name or using a star design and not having any affiliation with Durant Motors.

They are very neat looking!
My property dates to 1832. Homesteaded 10 acres.
This shed sits at the top of the hill, easy access to the road.
Lots of old parts etc.
Most likely the others are on the car.
But I'll keep my eyes open. It's a rock floor, easy to lose stuff.
It'll go with my 1884 V nickel I found where the old driveway was.
Just wanted to know if that is what it was.
