Yes. My Dad owns a 1930 Durant. We are from New Jersey USA. My grandmother worked at the Durant plant many years ago and we are restoring one now. Do you have a carb to sell?
Tom
I don't have a Stromberg U2, but I do have a couple of Ox2's from the Flint cars that are in pretty decent shape that I'm willing to sell. I'm not sure about all of the differences, but there is an OX2 on e bay now that will give you a description and specs. Jim G.
Hi Tom .. no I don't have spare carb's but my Dominion Motors 32 614 used W8A and J4A carb. Mine has the J4A. As the Leaside aftermarket says J4A used on some 614's. J4A, J6A and J7A were used on our Canadian cars under Dominion, along with the W8A. 1930 614 under Durant Motors I used to own in the 60's had the U2.
J6A W8A used on 1931 / 32 618 with 22A and later 1932 32A engine with J6A. 1932 633 Durant with 32A had the J6A, 1932 685 Frontenac with 32A used J7A. 1931 E or E-618 Frontenac with 22A used J4, 1932 E 670 Frontenac with 22A used J4A. W8A could be also used on the E Frontys
The E-55 and E-80 Flint used the OX-2 and did the Jr 8 Locomobile. Bolt spacing on the OX-2 is 2 11/16 same as the U2, W8A, J4A, J5A (619), J6A, J7A.
E-55 and E-80 Continental 6E 6 cyl 268.4 cui 65@2,400rpm
Jr 8 Conny 8P 8 cyl 198.8 cui 60@3,000 rpm
614 Conny 22A 6 cyl 199.1 cui 58@3,100 rpm.
Zenith replacement for all 3 is model 267 number 14999.
Carbs is a present project of Phil Peter's I am assisting.

Look under heading at left of home page under "Technical page" At the bottom under Durant repro parts lists a co in New Zealand that can supply a new Stromberg U2 for $2265.00 (assume NZ dollars)
Tom
Not sure but if you look at the Ebay button on the left of the screen, there is a Carb available for the 30 Durant I believe. You might check it out.

Mike .. if you are referring to 262484286270 Stromberg UV-1, that has been on eBay many times. Goodness knows what it fits. Info says 2 3/8 bolt centers and the 22A and 32A are 2 11/16 bolt centers. Couldn't hammer it on.
Now the 407 / 610 with W8, 4 cyl, uses Stromberg U1 1/8 and has 2 3/8 bolt centers. The W8 also used Tillotson SP-26A.

The Stromberg U2 was used on a few cars of our era, but they were as rare as our 6-14s. These carbs were made of pot metal and can fracture easily. They consist of three main parts(main lower body, upper main body and the float chamber cover). The float chamber covers are frequently broken at the supply line orifice from overtightening/vibration. I have spare parts to make a carb except for the float chamber cover. Maybe you can get that from Sid in NZ that is reproducing this part. Some of these carbs were stamped "22A" on the upper body right by the throat. Don't know if this means there was some internal part specifications just for our cars or just for the different connections or controls for the 6-14. Let me know if you are interested or will continue looking for an intact carb, because as I said you will need a new float cover to complete the one I have. Ross
