Coil Wiring

My 26 Star project came without the original type distributor. I have adapted a Delco Remy 635B. My question is where do the positive and negative connections from the coil go. The distributor has a connector on the side. Which wire would hook up to this and where does the other go? I think I know but want to be sure. Who said men don't ask for directions???

The wire coming from the generator goes to the circuit breaker on the generator. Am I correct in assuming the other connection on the circuit breaker goes to the ammeter?

Thanks,

Re: Coil Wiring

Hi Ken

If your battery is negative ground then I hook the negative terminal on coil to the points or the insulated post on the distributor..Yes, the circuit breaker/cut-out wire goes to the ampmeter...The wiring diagram doesn't show it but I like to put an external wire between the distributor housing and ground (usually a screw where cut-out is mounted on generator)

Sorry, forgot to mention, the plus terminal on the coil will go to the ign switch.
