Fuel pump float

Hello everyone;
A neighbor and new club member Gary is trying to get his Star cabrolet running.
His latest problem, the Stewart Warner vacume fuel pump float has several holes and won't allow the fuel to stop pumping. The result is that the car is flooding and fowling the plugs.
His car is a 1927 or '28 M2 with the 4 cylinder motor. It appears that his pump is an earlier style and has a different look to it than the later ones. Heree's a couple of pics.

If anybody has an extra float or knows of a replacement or "best fix", plaese to let us know. Every suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Jim and Gary

Jim:

If you cannot find a decent float, try to find a similar size medicine droper made out of plastic and insert in the hole of the dropper the hook you show in your picture kept in place by epoxy.

Good luck

Re: Fuel pump float

Have you thought about cleaning and soldering the holes closed and reuse the float? I believe it would be fairly easy to repair.
