The D75 came with a horn that was mounted on the head bolt of the engine with a bracket. I have the original horn and bracket that has been partially restored years ago but a missing badge to state its brand. My question is, What brand horns went on the D75 models in 1928? I know a couple of the club members own this Durant model and could certainly "weigh-in" on this topic. Thanks.
Hi Steve;
Is it round and mounts on the head bolt? If so it's the same horn used on the Model 65 that I have. I believe it is a Bosch, but I will go out and get the numbers this evening or tomorrow for you. Kind of round looks like a miniature spitune.
Where Are You From? Oviedo, Florida
Do You own a car built by Durant? 1928 Durant Model 65
Mine is not the the shape that you are aluding to but rather a longer trumpret shape. You can see a photo of my horn in the photographs section. The photo on the right shows the original primed one that came with the car. Thanks.
I finally found some old pictures I have but they do not show the horn in full,
just a section..
I will try to post it here.

oh well,
still cant get the post to show, but you can copy and paste it to view.
Our horn looks nothing like the one you have, although I am sure it really doesnt make a difference.
Perhaps mike can take a look as he mentioned his looks like a spitoon.. and ours does have the shape too with a round ball looking end.
Good luck!
