Not sure I understand the shelf on the rear of the car. Can you fold that down when you want extra carrying capacity, then fold it up against the body when not needed? Ross

On the sport touring cars they extended the spare tire mounting arms to allow a trunk between the body and the spare tire, the shelf is basicaly a rack for the trunk to set on.
