I've pulled the oil pan on the D65 I have - it's been sitting for quite some time and the pan and strainer in the pan were filled and blocked with sludge. I cleaned everything up and I'm hoping to fire up the car this weekend. Is there anything I should do to make sure the oil circ system is primed? I blew comp air thru the oil pump inlet pipe and into the line that connects the pump and the filtrator just to make sure they were clear of obstructions so these lines are now dry. Thanks.
Put some oil in it, remove the plugs, and spin the engine with the starter until you get oil pressure.
Hopefully, when you're running down the road, that sludge in the camshaft hollow won't break up and block the passages to the crankshaft and rods.
