My first project is to make some more room! Cathy says I need to clean up some of the garages before I bring anymore cars home. Guess I better not tell her about the 1923 T roadster she is getting for Christmas.
I really want to get a couple more cars running and ready for the Spring meet in Dayton and the Lancaster National.
At the top of the list is Cathy's 26 Star roadster, and our 27 Star 4 door. Of course the 26 touring needs the brakes fixed and new king pins. Then there is the 25 Star touring that is fairly original. I would like to get this running for Lancaster. Thinking about trying the "3-wheeled stunt" with it. OK I know there is a 1920 Overland touring in the back corner of the picture(it needs the starter rebuilt) But everything else is a Durant product.
See YUNZ at Dayton & Lancaster......

I'm finishing up a "home made" sign project that I'll try to write up for the Standard.
I'm also buttoning up the engine repairs on my Model 63. Needs the hood installed and the radiator hoses installed then fire it up! After that I have an oak display case to install shelves in and load up with toy tractors and brass blow torches. Then......I have a large lighted 2 piece Star sign that is in mid-restoration to finish up.
I guess for me its the same old thing. Try to get this thing in running condition.Have a damaged right shoulder and being right handed makes it tough to do much but sure trying to hook all the wires and springs up again after pulling the motor ,but slowly it is coming back together. Then seats have to be made and looks like maybe foam will be the material for them . Interior has to be done yet and the roofing placed when it gets warm out again ( if it ever does warm up) Heated shop is a godsend since we are having a real cold snap. Way down below freezing here.Hoefully this will all be done in time for the big meeting in Vancouver in 2011. Am still sweet talking Norma in hopes of getting to PA for the next meeting. Maybe see you all there.

1. Finally able to identify and catalog the 3 tons of Loco parts that were unpacked from last year. Enter into the Computer, possibly take photos for club Loco ID use.
2.Consolidate the Loco manuals and Tech data and get these pages sent-in to Rick for club use.
3. Make-up 2 to 4 "new" wheel and tire sets for the Locos. Then get the Locos moved around in their storage, to start resto.
4. Start making wood patterns for the 25 Loco Brougham closed car. Then get the 26 Loco Sedan running maybe(?), after checking the Eng out!
5. Finally! Move 30 Durant sedan and install it's Eng & Trans;
Lastly collapse from all this FUN car work, Ha, Ha.
Merry Christmas to you all!

With the storm that is moving up the east coast, shoveling snow will be on the project list for the next few days. Reports have us getting up to 24 inches. We have about 4 inches right now, and this storm is not expected to stop until 4 am or so.

Al, nothing new there about "stopping" . My chums 31 614 he'd stand on the brake and I pulled on the emergency hoping for more pressure on the brakes and wish we also had an anchor to toss out the window, back in the 60's. Seems the present owner ran into the same thing, with different shoes, ha ha.
Charlie, keep the snow down there. Its white here and enough thanks. Add to that its been cold the last week about minus 10 F or 22 C. First we get fall weather finally in late Nov / Dec and now Jan freeze too early.
Lance, is that the 407, 610, 611, 612, 614 Durant you talk about ??? The Johnny Cash Caddie of many parts. grin.
In addition to repairing the brakes on the '31 Chrysler and now grinding the valves on the '18 Hupp Roadster I am pecking away at restoring a 1929 Model 40. This 40 was quite unique as one of the previous owners had used the back portion of a sedan for the Coupe back, used sedan doors which are
5 1/2" shorter than coupe doors, built the wood framing to fit the narrower doors, then added a 5 1/2" section to to the rear clip and the turtle so that the rear wheel wells would center correctly on the wheels, also fabricated the trunk deck as well as the piece below the deck...Needless to say that owner must have been short legged and skinny.. Anyway, we had fun trying to figure this guy out.
Have a great Christmas and a happy New Year, Bill and Bjorg
