1930 614 Sedan Frame

Hello everyone. I'm new here, and new to the Durant Club. I just took ownership of a 1930 614 Standard Sedan this last Sunday. It needs a lot of help. I'm doing well as far as body parts go. But, I have one problem. I have no frame. Does anyone know where I can find a frame?

Thanks,
Mike

I have one but you'd have to come and get it in SE Iowa.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm in Northern Nevada, I'm not sure I can make it out that way any time soon. But, who knows.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike
I have a frame from a coupe. Dont know if it would be the same or not but its yours for the taking if you need it and it would fit. Have a few other parts as well- maybe you need wheels? or a rear axle let me know what you need -I may be able to help

Re: 1930 614 Sedan Frame

Ken,

Is your frame from a 1939 614 or 407 coupe? If so, it should have the 112" wheelbase that I need. Where are you located? What model(s) do you own / drive?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
I don't know if you've found a frame yet, but I have one for a 1930 614 sedan. The front part needs a little tweaking but overall it's in good shape. Email me if you are interested.

Re: 1930 614 Sedan Frame

Mike,
I have a rolling chassis of a 1924 Star Touring that is in excellent condition, if you can use that. it measures 102" wheel center to wheel center. I'm located in Auburn, Calif.......100 miles from you!

Re: 1930 614 Sedan Frame

Thanks Andrew. I think I need 112". Thats what the spec sheet says for a 1930 614. Thanks again.

Re: 1930 614 Sedan Frame

BTW all 1930 and 1931 614 Durant car frames are exactly the same no matter coupe, 2 door, or 4 door with a 112" wheel base.
Now the 619 model is completely different with the double dropped frame and shorter wheel base of 109".

Re: 1930 614 Sedan Frame

Now there you go again Lance, forgetting us Canadians with continued Durant's 31 / 32. No wonder we feel orphaned with orphan cars. 614 / 611 have same frames. But again the 611 was Leaside only. Seems to me I heard someone between Kingston and Toronto has a 611 sedan. 1935 you could have bought a 614 / 611 frame for half price at $22.50. Fronty at $66.50 down from $95.00. Guess the dropped frames were more expensive to make.
