6-63 Oil Filter

Does anyone elses 6-63 have the oil filter mounted on the firewall? Mine has a replaceable "sock" type filter mounted top center on the firewall. Usual oil filter mounts on the engine have not mee machined. It has never had a filter on the block.

Re: 6-63 Oil Filter

Hey Frank
Is that original or aftermarket? Seems like a strange place for an oil filter?

Re: 6-63 Oil Filter

It's factory.....it's listed in the parts book. My filter is different. It's the common after market sock type. Yours looks right Frank. I just wondered if all the 63's had them.

Re: 6-63 Oil Filter

Our D 63 had a cannister AC oil filter mounted on the dash with top and bottom 1/8" NPT fittings. The whole unit was replaced when changing oil and it did not have a replacable sock element. The vacuum tank on our D 63 is a Kingston unit not a Stewart Warner like the picture
