I was browsing my issue of the Hemmings Classic Car and came across an add from Analytic Systems for a converter from 6 volts any polarity to 12 volts 10 amps. This would allow you to run a modernt radio, CD player or XM radio in you Durant product. Doesn't say what the cost is, but the web site is www.analyticsystems.com and their phone number is 800-668-3884.

I'm just going by the ad says in Hemmings. It says "DC/DC converter. 6 volts any polarity to 12 volts at 10 ams. with no wiring changes". Phone number for the company is 800-668-3884 or 604-543-7378 web site is www.anaylyicsystems.com and they are out of Surrey, BC Canada.

I believe a converter changes one DC voltage to another DC voltage. (Essentially a DC transformer)

A transformer change one AC voltage to another AC voltage.

An inverter changes DC to AC.
