Lubrication of 23 Durant Speedometer Chain

What type of lubrication is recommended for the chain that is found on the 23 Durant speedometer to transmission?? This is a chain rather than a cable.

Yates,

If the chain is in a closed housing, buy a tube of powdered graphite and "squirt" it into the hosing from the speedometer end. Powdered graphite is slick and is a good dry lubicant.

Thanks Bob,
That should do the trick. I've tried that on the regular cables before, but did not know if it would take care of a chain type..
