Tires white bands

Is there any information about white bands in tires?

Where some models out of the factories, provided with those tires or was a dealer offer?

Was a popular feature in the twenties? I have seen cars of that period with and without bands.

The tires of the twenties used to have white bands enbeded in the rubber o were added as a rim?

Re: Tires white bands

Hi Recardo
I was told that rubber is originally white after processing since its creation.
This naturally showed up dirt so manufacturers began to add black colour.
The white band was cosmetic display on this uprade.

Just a note. If you look at the picture at the top of this page, taken at the Lansing Plant in 1923, you'll notice that the tires on the assembly line cars are all white as they came off the line.
