Do you have a copy of the Feb 2002 issue of the Durant Partner? On page 15, I wrote an article on torque specifications. As far as I know there weren't any published torque specs for the W5. I have Continetal engine service manual and torque specs are not mentioned. It gives the tightening sequence and says "This procedure is followed repeatedly until each nut is screwed down firmly." Torque wrenches probably weren't in wide use at that time. I don't know when they were invented.
