Welcome back everyone, and welcome to any new subscribers!
Once again, a BIG thank you to everyone who has bought coins since the last email, we've had a big influx of both new 7ypers and people increasing their stack. We're all overwhelmed by the response.
This is going to be a comparitively quick update, because another one is coming in just a few days. Essentially I have had a chat with various people here at 7ype and we've all decided that for the last two weeks of the ICO we are going to pull out all the stops. We've already got the new website ready, and will also have some very big news of film projects and extra funding to announce, and are going to spend a little bit of money doing a targeted advertising push for the last 14 days, combined with a press release sent to all major film and cryptocurrency related media outlets. We can afford a 2 week PR push so lets aim for the moon!
Of course everyone has been very patiently waiting for the new website design and white paper. Every time I think we are ready to update it all, we get another exciting phonecall or meeting with potentially huge news and we want to add it all, and include it in our video presentation. The new website and whitepaper, along with press releases and marketing campaign will launch on Monday the 14th August.
Some people said that our current website looks a bit dated and like an old Geocities page, and I tend to agree in hindsight. The new site looks really modern, clean and professional. For those wanting a sneaky peak preview, you can see the design of the pages at http://www.7ype.com/new (There is no page content there, but you can see the basic layout of the header and footer and the menu system - of course the main content of each page will go in the middle!).
The press releases will also allow us to officially add the company and the first set of our films to IMDb (this can take a few days to get approved) so that will go a long way towards making everything seem more "official" and "real" to people.
This morning I had a very exciting meeting with the director of one of the biggest British films of the 90s, and though we haven't signed contracts yet, I am confident that we will be adding the sequel to this film to our slate. This is a film with a big named cast, worldwide cinema distribution already in place, shooting next May, so its all very exciting. Similarly over the last few days I have been finalising negotiations with the film I previously mentioned with an A-List Hollywood producer onboard, hopefully I will be able to tell you all about these projects on Monday - we may be able to make a big enough splash to get featured in the major film news outlets, if the contracts and dates all work toegther.
I have been asked by many people what I am planning to do with the free Bitcoin Cash and Omisego tokens. If it were just my own money and I only had a small amount invested I'd be inclined to sell them, but as this is money intrusted to me by many other people, I've decided to "hodl" them for the meantime and pretend they are not there, just use the Bitcoin and Ethereum as planned. That way it gives time to see if the alt coins are successful or not. My main worry is if I were to sell all Bitcoin Cash for extra Bitcoin, there is a (admittedly small) possibility that eventually the market decides that Bitcoin Cash is the better currency, and I'll have "bet the farm" on the wrong horse so to speak. Considering it is "free" money, I'm just going to hold as I do with the rest of the Alt coins that I have a small amount in, on the off chance that they become worth money and useful in the future. I actually think the tech for BCH is very promising, and am pretty bullish on the future of OMG, but it remains to be seen, and for now the majority of "our" stash will be kept split between ETH and BTC. I hope everyone agrees that this is a sensible way forward that mitigates risks.
I'll be sending out another email on Monday so that you all know exactly when the new site, white paper etc are up, but just wanted to send this out as a quick update for you all to hear how we are doing.
Hope you all have a great day!
All the best, Samuel Victor (twitter: @samuelvictor @7ypecoin)
