Jeremiah Trammell (of Halifax Co, VA, abt 1767-abt 1851) had a relationship with Susannah (Susan) Baker (abt 1785-1850). This was established by two chancery cases (1835,1855) in Halifax Co, VA. I know of three of their children: Susannah, Jarrott B (perhaps for Baker) and Orpher Trammell. (My line is from Jarrott B Trammell). Susannah Baker was counted in the 1830 Census, the 1840 Census and with Jeremiah Trammell in the 1850 census of Halifax. In the 1860 Halifax Census, she was counted with Booker Epps (70) and Thomas Epps (28) as Susannah Trammell. Susan Baker died 9 Apr 1865, age 80, parents William and Elizabeth, never married, informant, Thos W Epps. Do you have information on this Susannah and her parents. Thank you for your reply. Phyllis

Great site! I have learned so much about my Baker ancestors here. I especially appreciate the time and research that has gone into this building site. I do not live far from Prince Georges County, MD where Humphrey Baker served as an indentured servant. I have also done much research in western Virgina where Humphrey Baker migrated.
Gratefully, Judy Warren

For many years I believed Humphrey to be my ancestor. DNA proved me wrong. I am descended from ggg grandfather Elisha Baker (1756-1830+) and Mary (Polly) Rickman Baker of Greene County, formerly state of Franklin, and site of Knoxville, TN and north of the French Broad River prior to 1783. I am still searching for the parents of Elisha. Your website is great and a great contribution to the Baker family.

As a descendent of Rev. Robert Baker (b. 1754 d. 1834) I greatly appreciate Judy's taking the time to notify me of the DNA test results regarding Robert's being the son of Humphrey. You have a great website and I have bookmarked it for future reference and am already correcting my family tree on Ancestry.com to reflect the latest findings. Good work and thanks!
