My website was working perfectly fine, I added three words to my site and now it's all messed up and only shows minor portions of my site. and at the top of the page on the left it says "" I have tried everything and it will not work anymore.

Did you try something else that worked? No problem visible. Checking for missing stuff will take time, of course, but nothing looks messed up and no "".

 type characters is usually caused from copy and pasting text from a program such as Microsoft Word.

They will not display in every web browser, it depends on the text encoding of the browser itself.
