NEW WEBSITE DOESNT WORK IN I-EXPLORER

HELP PLEASE I am new to website setup. I used a template and did a pile of work in chrome to set up the site. Now if I test the site in Internet explorer 8 its all messed up. It looks fine with SAFARI. I havnt tried firefox yet cause I don't hav e it.

Browser: chrome

Works OK in firefox but in IE it is not lined up everything is to the left
